The Akron Public Library is located on the north-east corners of Market and High Streets in downtown Akron, Ohio. Also known as the Carnegie Building, it was built in 1904 using a donation of $82,000 from U.S. industrialist Andrew Carnegie. It is an example of Beaux Arts Classicism and served as Akron's public library and art museum before being converted to office space in 1980.〔http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM7VVV_Akron_Public_Library_Akron_Ohio〕 The building is a registered historic building listed in the National Register on January 19, 1983.
